Cécile Reboud
I am currently in my Master’s in physics at ETH Zurich.
The idea of being able to explain everything is what first sparked my interest in physics. The depth and diversity of the subjects, as well as the people I met through university, are what motivate me to pursue my studies in physics. I am eager to learn more about the different fields, which is why I joined the YPF.
I look forward to further extend the network of physics students in Switzerland, as I believe the exchange between peers will always be valuable and is especially necessary in science. Aside from my studies, I love relaxed evenings with friends and enjoy gymnastics, as well as trying out new activities from the universities sport offers. I look forward to meet you at our next forum!

Kilian Teck
Presently, I am pursuing my Master’s degree in physics at ETH Zurich, where I am exploring trapped ion quantum physics and photonics.
In addition to my studies, I am passionate about fencing and can often be found training at the ASVZ salle d’armes in the evenings.
Curiosity is what drives us as physicists, and I look forward to exchanging ideas with peers at the YPF and exploring a wide range of topics together.
Kilian is the YPF's co-president.
Philip Wenz
I am currently studying at the University of Bern and working on obtaining my bachelor's degree.
In my free time, I enjoy bouldering and climbing. For now, I have been doing this mostly inside, but I would like to do these activities more often outside on a real rock as well. I also like playing video games and cooking as well as watching something on Netflix or any other platform.
Philip is the YPF’s webmaster and vice-president.
Katharina Moormann
I am currently studying physics in my second bachelor year at the ETH Zurich.
What I love about physics is that it studies the largest galaxies as well as the smallest particles. I am excited to explore more fascinating subfields in the future during my studies.
In the last forum i enjoyed meeting passionate physicists and engaging in interesting conversations, which is the reason I joined the YPF last year.
Outside uni, I find balance in sports. I just joined a football club in Zurich and play waterpolo and handball for fun. I also enjoy going to the flea market, trying new recipes and going out with friends.
Katharina is YPF’s treasury manager.
Julia Reisacher
I’m Julia, a second-year physics undergraduate at the University of Bern.
I’m fascinated by space and art. For me the Universe is art. Outside my studies I’m into powerlifting and running. I also read widely and enjoy crocheting. I love exploring how structure, symmetry, and creativity shape the way we see the world.
Julia is YPF’s community manager.
Bartlomiej Leks
I'm currently pursuing my master's in Materials Science at ETH Zurich, focusing on the intersection of theory and computation in quantum and condensed matter physics. My interests span topological and functional materials, developing modern computational and machine learning approaches, and getting constantly distracted by completely unrelated problems.
In my free time, I discover the world by testing my limits and seeking new experiences. When I'm not studying or reading with good coffee, you can find me climbing, running, or mountaineering in the Alps, travelling whenever I can, or playing the accordion.
As a member of the YPF committee, I want to build an environment where others can gain an authentic sense of what research feels like, broaden their perspective, find new opportunities and connect within an open and curious community.
‘Bartek‘ is the YPF’s university relations manager
