My main interest is learning how the universe works. I study Physics at EPFL. I think Physics, and Science in general are as marvelous as they are necessary, and it is the side-work of scientists to share it with the rest of the world.
My main goal within the YPF is to show to other physics students the importance of applying the principles of theoretical physics to the real world.

I study physics at the ETH Zurich, currently in my third year bachelor. The fields I enjoyed the most were quantum mechanics and astrophysics (especially stellar structures), and I’m having high expectations from my particle physics courses this semester. I’m interested in participating and contributing to topics that revolve around study life in general, as a board member of our students association. This also allowed me to help in the organization of this year’s YPF. Being an event at one of the most important particle physics research facilities, I’m very much looking forward to it. I hope we can make this a memorable event for you all!

I am 23 years old and currently in the 6th semester of my physics bachelor at UZH. My passion lies in the field of particle physics and data analysis, in particular Monte Carlo algorithms for Bayesian Inference. I spend my free time organizing events at our university, such as evenings at the Studibar or sports days, either for our students association or the members of the VSUZH. I am also involved in student politics. That is why I was eager to be part of the YPF as it combines both. I hope for better connection between all Swiss Physics students associations as I think we all can profit from that.

I have always agreed to be part of any committee in which I was invited. This leads me not only to the YPF, but also among other to be president for a time of the Fachschaft of Maths and Physics of the University of Fribourg where I study. The same open mindset allows me to appreciate nearly all subjects in physics and even science in general. This naturally lead me to start my Master thesis in the broad field of interdisciplinary physics.

I'm studying physics at the university Basel in the 4th semester. My biggest interest lies in classic and modern Mechanics. My goal of my degree is to understand the theoretical basics to apply them in a practical way. Apart from studying physics, I like to build and repair stuff (e.g. watches, radios, furniture) in my workshop. I'm looking forward to present the Fachgruppe Physik Universität Basel to the YPF.
